About the National Forest Foundation
This Limited Edition board was designed in collaboration with the National Forest Foundation. The board features an improvement upon the already popular Backwoods graphic with the addition of a Golden Grizzly, the spirit animal we imagine to be the protector of the forests, and the line "Freedom in the Forest". In terms of technology, this board also features our new hole-less bases that will be featured across our board lineup in the 2018/19 season. For each board sold, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the foundation to help fund our National Forests.
The National Forest Foundation promotes the enhancement and public enjoyment of the 193-million-acre National Forest System. By directly engaging Americans and leveraging private and public funding, the NFF improves forest health and Americans’ outdoor experiences. The NFF’s programs inform millions of Americans about the importance of these treasured landscapes. Each year, the NFF restores fish and wildlife habitat, plants trees in areas affected by fires, insects and disease, improves recreational opportunities, and enables communities to steward their National Forests and Grasslands. The Backwoods is ideal for the rider that gets into the backcountry for the fresh powder and wants a board that can handle whatever terrain it takes to get there. From steep couloirs to wide open bowls, this board excels in powder for everywhere powder can be found.
- A wide, long, early rising, sharpened powder nose keeps you floating in the deepest of deep.
- Tapered tail and set back stance allows for those surfy, fishy turns in the tight trees.
- Multiple radius sidecut optimizes edge contact and control.
- The forward-centered touring mounts provide a slight nose lift to keep the nose up during kick turns.
- Textured polyamide topsheet easily sheds any type of snow and provides unparalleled scratch protection, minimizing damage from edges crossing.
